Distant Steppe

Distant Steppe is the 5th map in Rebel Inc. Two cities are surrounded by the water and far away from the mountains, while the rest of the vast urban civilizations are located near mountains and forests, leaving them vulnerable should the insurgents take hold of the mountains. All the towns and farms are connected through highways and roads while the mountains and forests are all unpaved, leaving travelling extremely difficult.

Game strategy

Usually, Insurgents will spawn in the eastern or southern area of the mountains. Albeit challenging, you should not let Insurgents spread to the western mountains as failing to do so will result in a massive reputation loss. Insurgents aren't so aggressive here but fighting them in mountains is already tough. Due to that, airstrike is powerful here. The HQ location should be at or around the cities near the mountains. It is harder to stabilize but your HQ will act as a free Garrison for early game. Cities here, especially those surrounded by rivers are easier to stabilize, therefore the players should initially focus on urban civilian initiatives but don't ignore the rural and remote regions. Highways should be invested here as the majority of the roads are highways. Early on, Insurgents will attempt to attack the cities with the strength level higher than other maps, meaning that you need multiple Coalition Soldiers to handle them early on.
