Multiplayer
Multiplayer is a new mode added to Rebel Inc. Escalation, it features Coop and VS mode.
Coop[edit | edit source]
Coop mode starts with both players choosing their insignia, difficulty, advisors and operation name. Once both players finished choosing, they'll then choose their governors and a selection of 3 maps given to them from the game, players can't choose the same governors or the same maps so you'll have to get comfortable with all the maps and governors in the game.
Changes from Singleplayer[edit | edit source]
The biggest change is that the game will no longer pause itself unless both players pauses. This means that you should be fast when buying things from the operation menu, making decisions or moving soldiers. This might make the insurgents catch you off guard should you take too long on one screen.
The other change is that both players share reputation but has double the amount of reputation to make up for it. This means that should one player messes up, it'll also affect the other player especially their budget, making careful plays necessary.
In addition, there is now a new tab called "Multiplayer" here, the players are presented with 6 minor player tactics and 1 major player tactics, all different depending on who you and your teammate chooses. They all cost reputation that will gradually decrease over time, with the major tactic decreasing more slowly. Once one of them is bought, all the rest will have their costs be reverted to normal, preventing buying them all in quick succession.
Also in the Multiplayer tab, there are three new initiatives called "Airstrike Commander", "Drone Commander", and "Garrison Commander" as well as "Authorize Peace Decisions". Only one player can buy them and control them. Once bought, that initiative as well as their respective upgrades are locked from the other player but they can request the Commander to launch an airstrike, drone or build a garrison in a zone of their choosing though the Uplink tab on the bottom right. Once Peace decisions are bought, they are only presented to the player that bought it. The Drone Commander, Airstrike Commander, and Garrison Commander, each have charges for drones, garrisons, and airstrikes, the number is representing how many airstrikes, drones, or garrisons you may launch or build.
Coop Campaign[edit | edit source]
Once the two players beat a coop match, there is an option for them to continue a campaign together. This campaign is similar to normal singleplayer campaign but with a few major differences.
Unlike singleplayer campaign, there is no choice to choose tactics in between maps
Versus[edit | edit source]
Versus starts with 2 players opposing each other, the 2 players may choose their advisors, governors, and map to play on and unlike coop, both players can choose the same map and governor. When both players finish choosing, the game will start and you will have 30 seconds to place down your HQ once the opponent has placed down theirs.
Changes From Singleplayer[edit | edit source]
Significant changes have been made to balance versus to singleplayer. Maps will harbor an income bonus while some will harbor an income penalty. You will get to control the insurgents with movement and camp placements. There will be a new tab with the title "Insurgents", here you will be able to buy capability boosts for insurgents, affect how fast insurgents can take zones, and give them caves and tunnels to flee in. Like in coop, drones, airstrikes, and garrisons now have charges.
