The Banker is the 4th governor in Rebel Inc.

Speciality[edit | edit source]

The Banker earns extra interest on all money that the Operation hasn't spent yet. Your starting budget is lower due to her outrageously high salary.

The player starts with less funds (about $-12) and will suffer from an inflation bonus (+15% in Casual to Brutal, +30% for Mega Brutal) throughout the whole game.

On the other hand, the player will gain some extra funds as interest if they have some additional funds. The interest gained is equal to 0.45% of your current funds each turn (or ~38.2% each year). Income from interest is capped at $1 per turn, maxing out at $223 or more with the interest being $72 every year.

Unique Initiatives[edit | edit source]

For further information, see Government Initiatives#Banker and Military Initiatives#Banker.
  • Print Money (Government) - Gain some funds ($12) and significant inflation, while decreasing Support Level.
  • Hire Lobbyists (Government) - Gain 7 reputation.
  • Business Advisers (Military) - All allied soldiers gain a bonus to support level increment.

Strategies[edit | edit source]

Advantages[edit | edit source]

The Banker's interest can snowball quickly if funds are managed properly, and her initiatives all provide large benefits while having limited downsides. The budget waste event can also trigger often, allowing the player to strengthen their operation significantly. The Business Advisors can counter the support penalty of Coalition Soldiers as they reduce the amount of generated agitation and hostility while increasing the stabilization effect of National Soldiers.

Disadvantages[edit | edit source]

Banker starts with noticeably less money than every other governor and has an inflation bonus, effectively preventing players from spending quickly as doing so is more punishing than usual. Her ability is also harder to utilize on higher difficulties, where resources are constantly expended to the point where it's impossible to save up any appreciable amount for interest until the late game.

Governor Bonuses[edit | edit source]

  • Refunds $5 when choose option "Report" in decision "International Bank facilitating Opium Trade".
  • Gain $6 when choose option "Reduce Share" in decision "Locals demand Oil proceeds".

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Unlike the funds gained from interest, the interest itself is not capped. As a result, if you have a lot of funds saved up and rapidly spend them, you will continue to gain $1 per turn until the stored interest is fully depleted.
  • The Banker's sprites are reused for the Satellite Commander in Orbital Uplink.
