Azure Dam is the 7th map and the 2nd special map in Rebel Inc.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Another desert, this map has a large lake in the center, held back by an aging dam which streams the water into a river. A major city sits at the bottom of the river while 2 towns sit on opposite ends of the dam. The area is stretched by roads and highways connecting all 3 urban civilizations and the dam and several desert and mountains cover the area around.

Special features[edit | edit source]

The Dam[edit | edit source]

To begin work, you will have to fund the dam construction initiative in the Government Initiatives tab. If the dam runs out of durability, it collapses, flooding any zone it guards with thousands of senseless deaths and leads to an instant game over. On the other hand, you will gain a major support boost (+20!) in its region and 10 reputation if it was fully repaired. Development expert units will stop durability loss if they are placed in the zone and are able to work.

The Dam's structural integrity is inversely proportional to its degradation rate. Decay begins to occur starting from the 100th turn.

Convoys[edit | edit source]

Convoys will be driving to the dam and transport valuable supply shipments that will eventually repair the dam. The trucks are marked as yellow triangles. They are defenseless and Insurgents can attack them, causing them to slow and eventually shatter. If allied military units are gaining the upper hand, they will not be able to harm the trucks. Roads and logistics expert will accelerate these vehicles per usual.

By default, each convoy spawns with 4-6 trucks (5 on average). Each trucks recovers 1.2% of the dam's health.

Decisions regarding the dam[edit | edit source]

Too many trucks are wrecked. Drivers on strike.[edit | edit source]
  • Offer them danger pay. Convoy activity continues.
  • Threaten them to continue for free while causing international outrage and corruption. May also trigger Anger over Justice Hypocrisy if universal justice is acquired.
    • Billionaire: Spends funds to negotiate with drivers. Convoy activity continues.
  • Ignore the drivers and cease any transport missions for several months.
Power failure at the dam.[edit | edit source]
  • Provide backup generators for convoy activity to continue. (Requires Electricity 1 to be funded)
  • Pay workers an overtime bonus. Convoy activity will cease for some time.
  • Allow workers to tackle the issue normally. Convoy activity ceases for extended periods.
Convoy supplies missing.[edit | edit source]
  • Spend some funds and begin investigation. Convoys activities put on hold.
  • Purchase more supplies to compensate for the loss. Temporarily increases supplies delivered back to normal. The decision will eventually pop up again.
  • Ignore this event. More supplies will go missing over time. The decision will eventually pop up again. (Future convoys heal the dam less)
Convoy driver connected to supplies theft.[edit | edit source]

Only appears if you chose to investigate the disappearance of convoy supplies.

  • Arrest the involved drivers and reduce the scale of future fleets. (Future convoys will have 1 less truck)
  • Hire additional security at a cost to prevent such occurrences again.
  • Tolerate the theft for a cut. Extra funds and additional corruption risk are given when convoys arrive in exchange for less supplies.
Dam durability critical[edit | edit source]
  • Ignore the crippled dam.
  • Pay a small amount of funds to restore some structural integrity. It only temporarily stops durability loss.
  • Make a large investment for an emergency repair, restoring a significant portion of the dam's health and temporarily prevents further dam decay.
Convoys disrupt civilian activity[edit | edit source]
  • Reduce the truck quantity in the convoy fleet. Significant increase to support level (Bugged, has no effect).
  • Instruct the drivers to travel slower in civilian regions. (No) Slight increase to support level (Bugged, has no effect).
  • Recompense the affected civilians. Increases corruption.
Marine environmentalist riots[edit | edit source]
  • Take their concerns seriously and dedicate funds to enact their goals. Gain some reputation.
  • Allow fishing companies to reap any benefits from fish populations in the dam region for a cut. Will always lead to International outrage and reputation penalty.
  • Ignore their protests. Can lead to International outrage and reputation penalty.

Game strategy[edit | edit source]

As stated in the game, insurgents will not focus on capturing a lot of zones together. Instead, they will focus on raiding convoys or the dam and capturing roads to easily raid convoys. This makes it much harder to contain insurgents as they tend to move around a lot and often the time even skip zones to capture roads. This however also means that you don't have to worry about losing reputation due to insurgent activity as much. Rather, you should be afraid more of the dam destruction but you still should build support overtime. Security, Electricity and Roads initiatives are powerful here as they help with dealing with insurgents. Roads initaitves also make convoys travel faster and electricity allows you to build initiatives faster. For the HQ spot, on cities where it's on the roads or the area next to the dam are ideal spots.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Players cannot manually place their HQ in zone with the Dam without using any tricks. However, the Armchair Architect advisor can do so.
  • If you stabilize the region and win before the dam has been fully restored, this will unlock the "Don't Give a Dam" achievement.
    • On that note, it is possible to earn the achievement "Perfect Haul" without even beginning construction work in the first place if development experts were used to stall the dam's degradation, as no trucks even spawn.
  • There are 287,714 total people in this region.
  • Common major Concerns in the region: Water & Sanitation.
  • The internal codename for this region is "azuredam".
  • Azure Dam and Devil's Peak are the only maps with unique fail conditions.
  • The soundtrack for "Azure Dam" both for mobile and PC is reused from "Southern Dessert" soundtrack.
